Goodluck. My sister has lost weight healthily by pwer walking for 45 minutes everyday, you need to sweat a little and feel a little puffed, get the heart rate up. Eat well and in moderation, dont deprive that piece of chocolate square otherwise you will crave it and end up eating the whole block, everything in moderation, eat smaller portions and dont deprive carbos, you need a little for energy. Drink lots of water to flush the badies out of your body. Goodluck with your progress.

that's right you need to increase your heart pulses around 120-140, depending on the age of each one, for at least 45 minutes. the body will start burning fat after 20-25 minutes of training recently I have started jogging after several years, I did several other sports in between but not running per se, but still have not exceeded the 25 minutes of course every time I run a little longer so I believe it is only a matter of time until I get up to the 45 minutes mark.
-
you are right, in addition you need to keep heart pulses around 65% of the max (this is age specific) for at least 35-45 minutes, the real fat burning will start after 20 minutes.

Here's a chart you could use.

Hello,
My Question is in regard to gaining weight.. when.. I would think I should be losing? To make this short I ride my road bike here in Michigan around 2000 miles a summer. I never lose any weight and I have noticed weight gain. I don't eat any garbage food what so ever. I'm 38 and have always had weight trouble. My weight is 240 and my best ever was 205, I had to starve to get to that. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanks Steve Smith

You'd be wrong on that point. Reduced calorie intake + cycling = weight loss.

Increased metabolism, increased ability to burn calories because of increased muscle. I would think that cycling can increase weight loss, besides myself and many others are living proof.

how much you drink water, how many times you eat, how much do you eat in a single meal.. can you answer me that. see, it is not that you do not eat junk food then there are chances to lose weight but you have to take care of so many things.

I've lost about 50 lbs in 10 months eating whole foods and only complex carbohydrates (wild rice, brown rice, sweet potatoes, legumes etc.) Also, I've been drinking green tea which seems to do a great job eliminating any cravings between meals. Not saying this would work for anyone, but it's helped me a lot and green tea is very good for you in other ways too.

Are weight loss pills the best option for overweight people?
-
The purpose of most fad diets is to promote rapid weight loss that you can see almost overnight. Fad diets are short-term solutions; if you stay on a fad diet for more than a few days, you could cause your body serious harm. You should always consult your healthcare provider before beginning any kind of weight loss program to make sure your body can take the added strain to its system. Here are some popular fad diets with simple instructions that claim to result in fast, short-term weight loss.

In one word - NO.Stay away from quick fixes or scam/fad diets. To lose weight you need a caloric deficiency, it's as simple as eating less than you require. The easiest way to achieve achieve this is by eating food that is as close as possible to it's natural state and heavy in fruit and vegetables, grains and legumes. It's not rocket sceienes, most people know this already but they continue to stuff their face holes with fatty, greasy junk food and wonder why they're over weight.
Also make sure you ride your bike each day, exercise makes you feel awesome even if you're not.
-
First and foremost, you must be serious about weight loss. If not than you will not loose the weight, you'll continue to over eat and not exercise as you need to. Eat healthy (watch what you eat and how much you eat) and exercise (ride your bike or go to the gym) Set a goal (realistic one) and be serious about it.

Acitgin can help, it got me into great shape. I also took beast creature for creatine. Diet is very helpful and obviously important, but sometimes we need that extra push.

in your situation, i would guess its because of
bad genetics and slow metabolismi would advise professional to understand more and come to clearer conclution

Here is a little guide I wrote about managing your temptation. I would post it in a new thread but this is my first post and most forums frown on starting a thread for your first post but these steps have really helped me.... 1. Identify your temptations. (you have to know what foods tempt you) 2. Figure out what triggers your temptation (boredom, frustration, stress) 3. Think about what you are succumbing to. (remember why you want to lose weight in the first place) 4. Exercise your will power. (visualize your self saying no or remember all the things you are grateful for) 5. Accept that you are going to be tempted (don't pretend you are not tempted its going to happen) 6. Replace your temptations with distractions. (this one is most effective for me. Just think about whatever else you love besides eating and do that)
Do all these things in conjunction with excersing (ride that bike!) and you you will see improvements.

It took me about 8 years (cycling 6 months a year) to drop and stabilize my weight, going from 160 to 137 pounds. I don't follow a specific diet plan, but eat healthy, plenty of water, raw vegetables, bananas!, no sodas, no junk food. Funny thing is i wasn't interested in losing weight, i just enjoyed riding. I set goals for myself every season, so i can break my body down and hopefully come back stronger. It has worked exceptionally well last year. Long steady rides are supposed to be better for fat burning, as well as working out in the morning before breakfast, worth a shot.

Continue exercising and eating healthily and there is no better way of exercising but biking and cycling. Cycling is a very good exercise and burns a lot of calories especially when in high intensity and long distances. Do you see the bodies of those professional cyclists who are very fit and thin? Aside from a good exercise, it is also fun and very rewarding. It can be lot of fun when you go outdoor biking and could appreciate the beauty and nature of the outside when biking in a scenic trail. Thirty-minutes to one hour of cycling could be a start at a slow or relaxed pace. Then you can increase your pace or intensity depending on your limit. You can listen to music while cycling to set the mood. If you are very busy, then you can try a stationary bike for the exercise.

Physical activity and exercise should be done daily so you have a regular burning of calories and maintain or lose weight. We should also eat a healthy diet full of vegetables, fruits, rice and grains and low-fat meats. Avoid high sugar, fat, salt, preservatives foods and high caloric ones. When you want a reducing diet, you can lessen the amount of carbohydrates you take for weight loss. This will make you hungry so you can munch on some salads without dressing fruits like banana to fight this craving or hunger. It will take a lot of sacrifice with a reduced diet and daily exercise but it is needed if we want to lose that excess weight.

There are some people who won't loss weight no matter how hard they try. I'm sorry but your body might be designed that way. Anyways, you can still do cycling in a way to relax yourself and keep your mind calm rather than just for the weight loss I guess.
