    I am interested to learn how many hours it takes to consumed heme-iron to be absorbed and affect hemoglobin

    No idea, but make sure you get a blood test before supplementing with iron. It can be quite toxic to have to much.

    Apparently iron toxicity is the most common cause of death related to poisoning among toddlers (I'm guessing non-heme supplements).

    Just looking around the web it appears that heme iron contributes to the absorption of free radicals, who knew?
