The song is satire. The irony is that he's singing it.

More likely it's evidence he lacks a barber, a tailor, a make-up artist, a voice and a sense of humor.
Alternatively, the irony Slovakguy referred to was that it resembles gospel music but is about [censored] the poor.
Now that's some real satire.
