    Hello everyone!

    I've been looking at bikes for weeks now and really struggling to make a decision. I'm running out of summer to enjoy my new bike!

    I'm about 5'8'' so I don't need a women's bike, I just assume they're more comfortable. My commute should be ideal, all road and no cars to worry about (Cambridge busway) but it's a fairly long way. I'm quite unfit so I don't want to make it any harder work than it needs to be.

    Personally, I'd try to stretch the budget slightly and go for an actual road bike if you're riding a clear, paved path all the way to work:

    This one is within your budget and has provisions for fenders, which could be nice if you're riding in crappy weather.

    Straight bars get old fast because there's no variety of hand positions. The very upright position of those bikes also isn't very aerodynamic, which makes riding at speed more difficult than it needs to be.
