  1. Lately, I have gotten gout in my knee after an injury, and it has pretty much been a showstopper as I now can't bend my knee fast enough to pedal. ...and yes, it feels like a wreck. Who all has ridden with gout? Aside from the obvious changes (no Dew, lots of chicken, medicine, etc.) what all has helped you get rid of it? What has made it worse for you? Will stuff like turnip greens tend to flare it up? I saw they have a lot of purines.

  2. I have been having great success by using cherry juice in tablet form. It helps to neutralise the Uris acid which causes gout. Try a Google search for a supplier near you.

  3. I have also used cherry juice and they definitely do their jobs. I have a medical shop which supply the juice for me.

  4. You need to stop eating foods that create a build of uric acid in your body. Stay away from meats and certain types of vegetables. As far as I know you can control your gout with the right diet. Please do a internet search that will show you exactly what to eat and what not to eat.

  5. Gout is no joke. It is painful just to stand on it. I don't see how you are going to pedal a bike with it. There is no way that is going to happen. Any doctor will tell you that. Anybody near you will tell you the same thing if your ankle is the size of a tennis ball. Take it easy and get some rest.

  6. Very interesting topic. Gouts, I'm not so sure about them, but I can see it's a bit of a contradictory topic from the comments up there.

There's no way you can walk let alone ride a bike around. If someone was pushing you around on a bike then I can see that happening. But peddaling? No way. That's too painful for anyone.

  8. It does sound suspicious doesn't it. I know guys that had to get rushed to the hospital and they needed painkillers to take the edge off. Off the counter drugs don't work. Pedaling wouldn't be any better.

  9. I had a friend that had to be taken to the hospital and had to be given shot of painkillers because he was in so much pain. Advil didn't do anything for him. For about a month of two all he did was eat fruits and vegetables just to get his gout down.

  10. You have to make sure your diet doesn't aggravate the gout. Trying to just pedal through it just wont work. Nobody likes to wait, but that is the best option until you get the gout cleared up.
