  1. Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade from a mass-market bike (Schwinn) to an entry level (<$800) hybrid for my commute and recreation needs (paved roads, paved trails, occasional dirt trails). I would like to have the Hoy Shizuoka .001, but am in the US with no opportunity to try it out, and would like to avoid paying expensive international shipping. In addition, evansbikes ships it pretty much fully assembled to UK but not to US (I do not have the experience nor the tools to fully assemble and tune up a bike).

I'd like to ask if there are any bikes out there that are similar to the Shizuoka .001 in both features and price? Specifically, I want single-geared crank (rear derailer only), disc brakes, upright (Hybrid/MTB style) handlebars, light weight, and component quality as good as the Shizuoka .001.

    Thanks

  2. A Trek 7.4 FX,

Seriously, I haven't a clue. Is there a Hoy Shizuoka dealer near Denver, Colorado, where I can see one?

  3. Check Cube Hyde.

Touring sporty (rigid fork) commuter thing with disco brakes. Also with hub gearing and single crank...
