  1. Just didn't have my Mojo On when playing out in the woods today. I just couldn't find a good rhythm and was fighting the trails most of the ride. But can't complain because it was just good to get out and ride after 3 days of rain and the treadmill.

  2. Wow, nice vid those were some good trails, I like that kind of trail with small trees and vegetation, seems kind of fun. I noticed you got hit a bit there by some small branches well that makes it more fun.

I really like these trail in this section of the woods I ride in, and just a few branches smacking the camera.

We don't have those kind of trails here generally trails here are wide and paved off vegetation and the trees are cordoned off...

  5. I hear you on the "Mojo" thing, but let's focus on the real issue here: maintaining your bike. You said it was good to get out and ride after 3 days of rain, but did you check your bike's condition before heading out? All that moisture can cause major problems if not addressed properly. And as for the treadmill, it's no substitute for the great outdoors. But at least with a properly maintained bike, you can have a consistent and safe training experience, both indoors and out.

  6. I completely understand where you're coming from, but I have to disagree. It's not about finding your "mojo" or "rhythm" - it's about putting in the work and training consistently. I see so many mountain bikers neglecting their training, only to blame their performance on some mystical force like "mojo."

And let's not forget that you were still able to get out and ride after three days of rain. That in itself is an achievement and something to be proud of, even if your performance wasn't up to your standards. Instead of focusing on the negative, you should be celebrating the fact that you were able to get out there and push yourself.

But I will give you one thing - the treadmill is no substitute for the great outdoors. There's just something about the unpredictability and adrenaline rush of mountain biking that you can't replicate on a machine. So maybe your "mojo" was hiding in the woods all along. 😉

But seriously, keep up the good work and remember that progress takes time and consistency.

  7. While I respect your perspective, I must emphasize the importance of bike maintenance alongside training consistency. It's not just about putting in the work, but also ensuring your equipment is in top shape. Moisture from those three days of rain could've caused potential damage if not addressed.

Your achievement of riding post-rain is commendable, but let's not overlook the potential risks. Wet conditions can lead to slick trails and reduced traction, increasing the chances of accidents. It's not about finding your "mojo" in the woods, but about being prepared for the unpredictability of the outdoors.

As for the treadmill, it's not just the adrenaline rush that's missing. Indoor training lacks the technical aspects of mountain biking, such as cornering, climbing, and descending on various terrains. These skills are crucial for mountain bikers and can't be honed on a treadmill.

So, while I agree that progress requires time and consistency, let's not forget the importance of bike maintenance and the unique challenges of mountain biking. 🚵

  8. Sure, bike maintenance is crucial. But let's not forget about the mental aspect of biking. After all, a clear mind and focused attention can prevent accidents too. It's not just about avoiding mud or slick trails, but also about staying calm and in control. And that's something that can't be trained on a treadmill either. 😉
