Hello!
I am a Masters student at LSE and a group of fellow students and I are conducting research on the feasibility of developing self-charging bicycle navigation systems. If you have 5 spare minutes to fill out our survey, that would be wonderful!

I personally see no reason this can't happen. A standard dynamo puts out 6V at 500mA, which isn't far off from the USB standard. Last time I checked, you can definitely charge a low end smartphone as it runs a GPS app as you ride this way.
...though it would help if there was a survey to take.

Interesting, but i'm old school cyclist, prefer the old dynamo.
The concept is really nice and it will definitely work. This is the age to develop your idea and get success. During college time you can put your all energy into your goal or idea and could get great success. I am graduated in finance and just got the job by searching on the internet.
