Hi all, that's my tentative dx as of yesterday...my Rheumatologist does not approve of me even
attempting to run-indoors or out. Anyone have experience with RA? Did you (try to) keep running? I
can't row at all right now either as my shoulders are the worst affected, along with both knees and
one sorry toe. Bummer, Teresa

arthritis, and many more related diseases.Glucosamine (OTC) is often suggested for *osteoarthritis*, the wear-and-tear or injury-precipitated
kind; I lurk in a very active arthritis support newsgroup and have never seen glucosamine suggested
for the autoimmune arthritises. The theory is that it slows the erosion of the cartilage that
cushions the joints (some believe it may actually rebuild the cartilage to some extent). AFAIK no
clinical trials have been reported yet. From what I've read in alt.support.arthritis, the rheumatic forms need prompt treatment to prevent
lifelong erosion of the joints and tissues. There have been a number of new RA treatments approved
in the last few years, but some doctors may not be aware of what is now available. RA is also
notoriously hard to diagnose accurately; some patients may wait years for a rheumatologist to be
sure of their form of the disease. One occasional poster in that newsgroup who has RA has run marathons after the effects of his
treatment kicked in.Quoted message said:

that group for a while, or scan some of their messages in Google. Whatever you decide, good luck.

A Chiropracter? in a recent post somewhere suggested that glucosamine might be better without the
chondroitin because the chondroitin can aggravate an autoimmune condition. -

This site was published on 30 Dec 2003. So far it has been visited by over 10,000 people. You may or
may not believe it, but all of the emails I am getting are positive. People who suffer from the
diseases do recognise the connections between various conditions in a way that perhaps the more
"organ specific" medical specialists do not.On innatehealth.com I have explained the science in some detail. I also explain the treatments,
which I think anyone who can put together the ingredients to bake a cake would understand. The aetiology of hypertension, eczema and asthma is fully explained. No one has yet said I am wrong
on any of the science. Of course you may say "This cannot possibly be true", but that does not
advance understanding of these diseases. If you are satisfied with the present "success" of medical
treatments of chronic disease, that's fine. But most of the rest of us look for innovation and
discovery. Why expect it to arrive from a conventional source? It never has in the past.Out of all the millions spent on medical research in the UK in 2003 the amount spent on aetiology
was nil. There seem to be no specialists in the subject except me. I have had to fund my research
myself for the past sixteen years with not much hope of any return. With best wishes,
Warren

Possibly because the vast majority of folk who think you're a quack can't be bothered to write?

This must be a different use of the word "science" than the one I'm familiar with.
Lets see, you've formulated a hypothesis, you've possibly performed a preliminary trial to establish
whether it warrants further investigation. Have you then gone on to perform a full double blind
trail to eliminate observer bias and placebo effect with sufficient numbers to eliminate chance?
Have you published your results in a reputable journal where they can be peer reviewed? Has anyone
else replicated your results?I suspect not. If that's the case, then frankly, you can't make any valid "scientific" claims for
your treatment. As I said before, if your treatment was effective *and verifiable*, you'd be in line for a
Nobel prize.Tim

used to be fairly poor at doing anything helpful. New medicines offer tremendous promise and have
changed the course of disease for some, but rheumatological disease is so far outside my everyday
experience that I won't pretend to offer you hope or advice. But I will point out a few things that
you probably have already noticed. First, there are things you can do with the guidance of a good,
honest, humble rheumatologist, sounds like you already have just such a doctor. Second, RA is common
enough (unfortunately) that there is a large community of RA sufferers to call upon. RA groups have
incredible amounts of information, advice, experience, tips, and thus you don't have to go through
this alone, uninformed, and unsupported. I hope you get off to a good start working on this. And I
hope that you are one of those lucky folks who can eventually enjoy an active vigorous life.Best regards, -- Josh Steinberg, MD, Syracuse

Wow. Microbes trapped in sweat glands by salt reabsorbing issues causing autoimmune diseases. A
person with a wacky quasi scientific theory, a miracle solution, and a profit motive. Seen it
all before.People with chronic illness get preyed upon like this all the time. Get ready for the onslaught
and beware. You never know what works and what doesn't, but a really strong dose of skepticism for this, so much
else, and even traditional western medicine like mine, is a good thing for any health consumer
(a.k.a. suffering patient) to keep hold of.-- Josh Steinberg MD, Syracuse

Running and existentialism.
One of the benefits of running, especially, as I do, running on the fields around my farm
overlooking the North Wales coast, is that it helps to wipe out the petty irritations of the day.
For me it helps me to scan the bigger picture, to see the current position of humans in relation to
their evolution, and the evolution of other flora and fauna.I appreciate that there has been little, if any, medical research into reabsorptive ducts, other
than in the field of cystic fibrosis, but I will keep writing about ducts, and antimicrobial
peptides, and tonicity, until these are better understood in relation to chronic disease. For your interest, I have never preyed on anybody, vulnerable or not, and I have never taken a penny
from anybody for anything health/medicine related. Yes, I have a patent application for a product as
fully described on innatehealth.com, but this will no doubt have to receive the careful scrutiny
that any such products require before it is put on the market. One day, a long time ago, I just got angry that at the end of the twentieth century so many people
were destined to spend the last years of their life in infirmity, so I decided to do something about
it. In that aim, I will be successful, without causing loss or pain to anyone. With best wishes to you and to Tim,
Warren

Well you do seem to be satisfied with the present methods of treatment of chronic disease. 31 per
cent of the UK population are now being treated for chronic diseases, and the numbers are rising. I
expect that all of the treatments have undergone double blind testing and are therefore considered
"successful".With best wishes,
Warren

want - the ultimate in benevolence and philanthropy. There are so few people left with such open
hearts and wallets. Ah yes, Saint Warren, "send me your tired..." or is that "bring out the dead".

At innatehealth.comcell signalling.htmOpen ↗ I explain a demonstration using a small piece of
sodium chloride. If anybody is unable to find a piece of salt I will certainly send them some free
of charge. The ingredients for the other items described for sodium signalling could probably be found in most
home kitchens, or can be obtained from health stores. I do not own any shares in health stores.Any person wishing to experiment should consult with their own physician before using the very small
amounts of salt involved. With best wishes,
Warren
