Are e-bikes the ultimate enablers of laziness, allowing riders to cheat their way to the top of mountain climbs and pretend theyre something theyre not, or are they simply a necessary evil in an era where road riders are more concerned with Instagram likes than actual athletic achievement?
Is it not time to acknowledge that the proliferation of e-bikes is a symptom of a larger problem - a lack of dedication, discipline, and genuine passion for the sport? Or are we just too scared to call out the charlatans who think they can buy their way to the top of the podium?
Why do we continue to tolerate the notion that e-bikes belong in the same conversation as traditional road bikes, when the very essence of our sport is built on the principles of human power and endurance? Are we so desperate for participation numbers that were willing to sacrifice the integrity of our sport at the altar of convenience and accessibility?
