Cattle for food are only kept 3 or 4 years else the cattle eat up their value in cattle feed!. North
America switched feed practices immdiately that Britian had problems so the only Mad Cows left are
milk cows because all other cattle have been killed. While most cattle (milk cows) over 4 year are
still alive and probably infected, it would not be wise to test all of them. Testing a cow here or
there is ideal. If the North American cattle industry can buy a little time of a year or two, all
the old infected milk cows will have been slaughtered and passed through the system undetected.
For instance, only cattle under 3 or 4 years can be transported to the US. So Canadians get to eat
all the 5 years and over cattle which is probably BSE infected. While government's don't always pay
the best wages, they often hire the brightest people!
