when riding the bike my daughter sometimes experiences an unusual clicking sound (not the regular freehub idle run). Unfortunately I don't have a tool here to remove the freehub for inspection, does anyone know if this is just too loose or did anyone experience something like that already?
My assumption would be that there are some kind of undersized bearings or undersized needle bearings inside or the whole thing is too loose? I'll try to go to the bike shop where we bought this bike, when my wife went there the shop owner said he has no idea and all he can do is to oil it...
ok I did not play around with bikes for quite some time, so it's a freewheel no freehub. The thing has a quite low quality the bearings (if there are some must be undersized...). I'll check another store for a shimano freewheel tomorrow, the clicking makes my kid unhappy...
"Unusual clicking sound" is a vague description. Provide more details: when does the clicking occur (e.g., during pedaling, braking, or coasting)? Is it consistent or intermittent? Has your daughter adjusted her pedaling technique or gear shifting recently? Without concrete information, it's impossible to offer a meaningful diagnosis.
