Is the tire sealant industry taking advantage of cyclists by marketing separate products for gravel and road bikes when the differences between them are negligible, and is it time to call out these manufacturers for their misleading claims and inflated prices?
It seems that the only difference between gravel and road tire sealants is the label and the marketing campaign behind them. The ingredients, the application process, and the results are all the same. So why are we paying a premium for a product that is essentially the same as its gravel counterpart?
Are the claims of optimized for high-speed puncture resistance and designed for the rigors of gravel riding nothing more than clever marketing ploys to get us to part with our hard-earned cash? And if so, shouldnt we be demanding more transparency and honesty from these manufacturers?
Its time to take a closer look at the tire sealant industry and ask ourselves if were being taken for a ride. Are we really getting what we pay for, or are we just paying for a fancy label and a slick marketing campaign?
