So youre all still stuck on the idea that zone 1 training is just for recovery and base-building, and its not actually capable of unlocking any sort of meaningful performance gains or physiological adaptations. Let me ask you this: what if I told you that the majority of you are completely misusing zone 1, and that by incorporating it in a more structured and specific way, you could actually tap into some pretty incredible physiological superpowers.
Are you all just too lazy to actually put in the time and effort required to develop the aerobic base that would allow you to truly benefit from zone 1 training, or is it just a lack of understanding of the underlying physiology. Do you genuinely think that just sort of meandering along at a low intensity is actually going to elicit the same sort of adaptations as targeted, high-volume zone 1 work.
And another thing - whats the deal with the complete lack of periodization in most peoples training plans. Do you not understand that in order to truly benefit from zone 1 training, you need to be doing it in a specific, structured way that takes into account your current training phase and goals.
So heres the question: are you all just too afraid to step outside your comfort zones and actually challenge yourselves with some real zone 1 training, or is it just a lack of knowledge thats holding you back. Either way, its pretty clear that the vast majority of you are not actually tapping into the true potential of zone 1, and are instead just using it as a cop-out for not actually putting in the work required to become a truly competitive cyclist.
