Whats the point of even doing Zone 2 training if youre not going to tailor it to your specific goals? Its not like just mindlessly riding in Zone 2 is going to magically make you a better cyclist.
Ive seen people just ride in Zone 2 all the time, thinking thats enough, but its not. If youre a sprinter, you need to focus on short, intense intervals to build explosive power. If youre an endurance rider, you need to focus on longer, more sustained efforts to build cardiovascular endurance. And if youre a climber, you need to focus on high-cadence, low-gear work to build leg strength.
So, how do you actually adjust Zone 2 training for different training goals? Is it just a matter of changing the duration or intensity of your rides, or is there something more to it? Do you need to change your cadence, your gear ratio, your nutrition? Whats the optimal way to structure your Zone 2 training to achieve specific results?
And dont give me any of that just listen to your body nonsense. I want concrete, data-driven advice from people who actually know what theyre talking about. If youre just going to spout vague cliches, then dont bother responding. Im looking for real, actionable advice that I can use to take my training to the next level.
