Despite the overwhelming evidence that proper heat management can make or break a riders performance, it seems like some athletes and teams are lagging behind in this department.

    Whats even more perplexing is that some of the most basic strategies for managing heat, such as proper hydration, electrolyte balance, and cooling systems, are still not being utilized by some riders. Its as if theyre stuck in the dark ages of cycling, relying on outdated methods and anecdotes rather than scientific evidence.

    So, I have to ask: are the riders who are still struggling with heat-related issues simply not aware of the effective strategies available to them, or are they just not taking the necessary steps to implement them? And whats the deal with teams and coaches who are not prioritizing heat management in their training programs?

    Its not like its rocket science: we all know that heat stress can lead to decreased performance, increased risk of injury, and even heat stroke. So, why are we still seeing riders suffer from these issues during competitions? Is it a matter of ignorance, complacency, or just plain laziness?
