Can anyone recommend walks specifically suited to amateurs? I'm new to this and would like some
information. Thanks in advance! xx

Don't want to make you all jealous, but out in the wild West of Pembrokeshire, the cloud kept off
until after the eclipse was total. Nice sight with the 'diamond ring' effect just before the moon
went totally into shadow. We were also treated to some rather spectacular Northern Lights for a couple of nights week
before last.Working nights does have some compensations (but not many)

Now look 'ere Jonsey stop braggin. By yer in Swansea - Luvly Swansea, we saw buggerall as Dylan -our

79.84% of all statistics are made up on the spot. The other 42% are made up later on. In Warwick -
looking at flat fields and that includes the castle. -

Do they usually use msn addresses?I couldn't really care less to be perfectly honest.
As a total aside are you thinking of watching the lunar eclipse tomorrow night? Wales is about the
only place that won't have cloud cover so I'm packing tents and cameras tomorrow morning....

After the assorted pyrotechnics of the last few nights? You have to be joking! Mind, it's been as
clear as anything all day today - glorious blue cloudless sky, brilliant sunshine, autumn colours...
and me stuck inside slaving over a hot photocopier.

I was just looking at the almost full moon a few moments ago. Are you sure it will be this clear
tomorrow night?Paul

I didn't want to admit it, but, well, so did I.

might be better away from where the bonfires and fireworks have been going *whi-i-izz!* *bang!* for
the last few nights. We've decided to see what it's like round about nineish, and if it looks good
we'll wrap up warm and pile into the minibus to see what, if anything, we can see.

Nice clear cloud free sky in Aberwystwyth. Damn good job too after paying the Met office real money
for a personalised forecast.I hope that the cameras gave me some nice images - got a few ggod ones moving into totality, some
nice ones in and then the cloud came over. Got maybe a couple leaving the penumbra but not sure if
they will be up to much. Will post them in a couple fo days when I get them developed - I've run out of C41
chemistry. Curses!

Quite cloudy at the moment, but there are occasional breaks.

Total cloud here as well, complete with the obligatory rain that always seems to accompany these
'once only' opportunities. Sod that, I'm off to bed.

Well done! You'll get better results than trying to photograph the moon anyway...

Not quite total in Swansea at the beginning of the eclipse, I saw glimpses through the gaps in the
clouds of the first bit when the shadow started moving across the moon, but then it clouded over
completely. No chance of seeing the full eclipse.Quoted message said:

Rain again? None here. Must be specially for the rally.

The two attempts at dawn behind St Pauls resulted in BA. Oh, well. Might have a decent H of P
through Millennium wheel.

I was driving through Fife at the time, not even a glimpse of the moon. The lady on radio 2 was
getting e-mails saying how good the view of it was in the Midlands.--
