Whats the point of even considering a gravel bike light for night riding if its not going to be at least 20% brighter than the standard road bike lights, cant be easily adjusted to different beam patterns, and doesnt have a battery life that lasts at least 6 hours on a single charge.
Ive seen people raving about the latest and greatest gravel bike lights, but when I look at the specs, they seem to be just rehashed road bike lights with a different name slapped on them.
What are the actual differences between a dedicated gravel bike light and a road bike light that make it worth the extra cost, and are there any lights out there that truly offer superior performance for night riding on rough terrain.
Is it even worth considering a light that doesnt have a sealed body to protect against dust and water, and whats the point of having a USB rechargeable light if its not going to hold up to the rigors of regular use.
If Im going to be spending upwards of $200 on a light, I want to know that its going to be able to withstand the punishment of regular night riding on gravel roads and trails, and that its going to provide me with the level of illumination I need to feel safe and confident.
So, what are your experiences with gravel bike lights, and are there any that you would truly recommend for night riding.
