How triathletes’ body composition differs from that of single-sport athletes

Wouldnt the added demands of training for multiple disciplines result in a less efficient allocation of energy resources, potentially leading to a body composition that is not as finely tuned for a specific sport as that of a single-sport athlete.

    Is there a point of diminishing returns where the generalist approach to training actually becomes a hindrance to achieving an optimal body composition for endurance performance. What are the key physiological differences, if any, between triathletes and single-sport athletes that would suggest one composition is more beneficial than the other.
