Would Zone 2 training be easier if you had to race a snail, or are all of you just so slow that it wouldnt even make a difference. I mean seriously, if youre not even pushing yourself hard enough to drop a sluggish gastropod, then whats the point of even calling yourself a cyclist. Do you people actually think that just cruising along at a pace that would get you lapped by a toddler on a tricycle is going to get you any kind of results. Newsflash, its not about just finishing the ride, its about pushing yourself to be better, and if a snail is all it takes to motivate you, then maybe you should just stick to hiking.
Im not asking for opinions on the best way to train or what kind of bike is best for Zone 2, Im asking if having a competitor, no matter how slow, would actually make any of you try harder. Or are you all just content with being mediocre and blaming it on your training plan.
And dont even get me started on the whole its about the journey, not the destination nonsense. If thats really what you believe, then why are you wasting your time on a bike instead of just walking. At least then you could pretend to be enjoying the scenery.
So, would racing a snail make any of you actually try, or are you just going to keep on coasting and expecting everyone to pat you on the back for showing up.
