  1. Are puncture-resistant tyre liners just a crutch for road cyclists who cant handle a little bit of rough road, or are they actually a legitimate solution for preventing flats, and if so, why do so many pros seem to get away with not using them in the peloton, is it because theyre just that good or because theyre running tubs and dont need to worry about it, and do the added weight and rolling resistance of tyre liners really outweigh the benefits of not having to deal with a flat, or is that just an excuse for riders who are too lazy to learn how to properly maintain their bikes, and whats the real reason why you guys are all so obsessed with saving a few grams when a decent set of tyre liners could save you from a world of hurt.

  2. Puncture-resistant tire liners may not be the magic solution for flats. They can add weight and rolling resistance, potentially slowing you down. And let's be real, many pros don't use them because they're skilled enough to avoid flats, not because they're running tubs. Obsession with saving grams might seem silly, but keep in mind, every gram adds up over long distances. Plus, learning basic bike maintenance is a crucial skill for any cyclist. Is the convenience of tire liners really worth the potential downsides?

  3. Puncture-resistant tire liners are a legitimate solution for preventing flats, especially for cyclists who ride on rough roads. Pros may not use them because they often ride tubular tires, which are less prone to flats. The added weight and rolling resistance of liners are minimal compared to the benefits of flat prevention, making them a worthy investment for many cyclists.

  4. Intriguing inquiry! Puncture-resistant tire liners, a contentious topic in the road cycling world. Some view them as a crutch, while others see them as a practical solution to prevent flats. The pros often forgo them, but that's largely due to their expertise and the use of tubular tires, which are less prone to flats.

Addressing the weight and rolling resistance, yes, they do add some, but the benefits of avoiding flats can outweigh these drawbacks. It's not an excuse for riders; rather, it's a strategic choice based on individual needs and circumstances.

So, are tire liners just a crutch or a legitimate solution? The answer lies in personal preference, riding style, and the specific conditions one encounters on the road.

  5. 😎 Oh, I see. So puncture-resistant tire liners are just for wimpy cyclists who can't handle a bump or two. Got it. And pro cyclists don't use them because they're just that talented, or because they're running tubs and are too cool for liners. The extra weight and rolling resistance of liners? Clearly an inconvenience for those who can't be bothered to maintain their bikes properly. And the obsession with saving a few grams? Must be because we all love a good challenge, even if it means risking a flat tire. So, is it just human nature to prioritize vanity over practicality? 😏

  6. Puncture-resistant tire liners, a hot topic! 🔥 Are they a "crutch" for wimpy road cyclists or a smart solution to flat prevention? I've had my fair share of flats, and let me tell you, changing tires on the side of the road is no party. 🥳 But hey, maybe the pros don't need 'em 'cause they're just that good! 😎 Running tubs might be their secret sauce, huh?

Now, about that extra weight and rolling resistance—yeah, it's there, but is it a deal-breaker? I'd argue it's a small price to pay for peace of mind. 😌 And for those who say it's for lazy riders, well, maintaining your bike is essential, but let's not shame folks for wanting to avoid flats. 🤓

What do you think, fellow cyclists? Are tire liners a game-changer or an unnecessary burden? Let's hear it! 🗣️🚴‍♂️

  7. Pfft, tire liners? Not a crutch, a smart move. Pros don't need 'em 'cause they're experts, sure. But for us mortals, why suffer flats? Extra weight? Please. Peace of mind is worth it. Tire liners ain't for lazy riders, just ones who value their time and energy. So, are they game-changers? Absolutely. Unnecessary burden? Not a chance.

  8. Tire liners? Smart move, sure. But Pros don't need 'em 'cause they're sponsored, right? For us regular folk, flats suck. Extra weight? Who cares? Peace of mind? Priceless. Tire liners ain't for lazy riders, just ones who value their rides.

  9. Tire liners are a hot topic, right? So, if pros are rolling without 'em, is it really just 'cause they're sponsored? Like, do they have secret tech we don’t know about? And what about us weekend warriors? Flats can ruin a ride faster than you can say "tubeless." We’re not all racing for yellow jerseys. Is it really just about saving weight, or is it more about keeping the ride fun and stress-free?

I mean, how many times have we been out there, loving the ride, only to get a flat and ruin the vibe? Do tire liners actually mess with the feel of the bike? Or are they just a smart move for keeping the rubber side down? Why’s it such a big deal for some to ditch the liners? What’s the real story behind this obsession with weight? Can't we just enjoy the ride without stressing over grams?

  10. Tire liners, schmiers. Pros don't need 'em 'cause they're sponsored, got access to fancy tech. But us mortals? We ain't racing for yellow jerseys, just wanna enjoy the ride. Flats, they're a buzzkill, no doubt. One sec you're loving life, next your ride's ruined 'cause of a pesky puncture.

Tire liners, they might add a few grams, sure. But peace of mind, that's priceless. You're telling me riding around worried about every sharp thing on the road is more fun? Nah, I'll pass.

And no, tire liners don't mess with the feel of your bike. That's just an excuse. If anything, knowing you're less likely to flat makes the ride smoother.

So why the big fuss about ditching the liners? Beats me. Maybe it's a weight thing, maybe it's a status symbol. Who knows, who cares.

At the end of the day, it's about having fun, right? Tire liners help me do that. If you prefer living life on the edge, go for it. Just don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

  11. So if tire liners are a no-go for pros, what’s the real deal? Is it just about being fast or is there some tech we don’t get? They’re not scared of flats, but we are. We’re out here just trying to enjoy the ride, not race. Why’s it such a badge of honor to ditch the liners? Is it really worth the risk when a flat can ruin your whole day?
