Whats the point of even calling yourselves cyclists if you cant even figure out how to carry a few extra pounds of gear on your precious road bikes? I mean seriously, cant you just strap a saddle bag to the back of that sleek, overpriced frame and call it a day? Or are you worried itll ruin the aerodynamics of your 10-pound bike?
Specifically, Im wondering if its possible to use a saddle bag to carry a camera and some accessories - were talking lenses, batteries, maybe a small tripod. I know some of you are probably thinking, But what about the weight distribution? or What about the added stress on the saddle rails? Well, let me tell you, if you cant handle a little extra weight, then maybe you should stick to your spin classes and leave the real cycling to the mountain bikers.
And dont even get me started on the aesthetics. I mean, who cares if a saddle bag doesnt match the sleek, minimalist design of your road bike? Its not like youre trying to win a beauty contest out there. Youre supposed to be cyclists, not fashion models.
So, can you use a saddle bag to carry a camera and accessories? Or are you all too worried about ruining your bikes perfect lines?
