Ive noticed that some newer e-bike owners seem to think they can charge their batteries in any old way and still expect them to last for years to come. Whats the worst e-bike charging mistake that people are still making today, and how many of you still follow the absolute charge it whenever I feel like it approach, regardless of the degradation it may cause to the battery cells.
Do people still not understand that most e-bike batteries, especially lithium-ion ones, have specific charging profiles that should be followed to prolong their lifespan. Some manufacturers are now incorporating advanced battery management systems that can mitigate some of the adverse effects of improper charging practices, but surely, its still a topic worth discussing.
Isnt it alarming that some newer e-bikes are being marketed with fast-charging capabilities, without any clear guidelines on how often this feature should be used, and what are the long-term consequences of doing so on the batterys overall health.
Dont you think that e-bike manufacturers should take some responsibility in educating their customers about proper charging practices, and not just leave it up to online forums and word-of-mouth to spread the knowledge.
