Is it just me or does the New York map on Zwift feel like it was designed by a masochist? I mean, who thought it was a good idea to put a 10% grade hill right after a 5-mile flat section? And dont even get me started on the rolling hills that seem to go on forever. Its like the game is trying to suck the life out of your legs.
I swear, every time I ride the New York map, I feel like Im in some kind of sadistic experiment designed to test the limits of human endurance. And whats with the lack of scenery? I mean, Ive seen more exciting views on a treadmill. Is it too much to ask for a little variety in the landscape? Maybe some actual New York landmarks instead of just generic skyscrapers and warehouses?
And can we talk about the routing options? Or should I say, the lack thereof? Its like the game is trying to funnel you into a specific route, with no regard for your actual fitness goals or preferences. I mean, what if I want to do a recovery ride and not kill myself on the hills? Is that too much to ask?
Im starting to think that the New York map is actually a cleverly disguised form of torture, designed to break the spirits of even the toughest cyclists. Am I the only one who feels this way? Or am I just being a wimp?
