Considering the fact that the Spring Classics are just around the corner, can anyone honestly say that last years performances are still relevant, or are we going to see a whole new crop of riders dominating the one-day events, and if so, who do you think is going to suddenly materialize and take the wins, or is it going to be the same old rinse and repeat with the usual suspects like Van Aert and Van der Poel, and what exactly is it going to take for someone to actually dethrone them.
Are we going to see some new, innovative tactics being employed by the teams, or is it going to be the same old, same old, with everyone waiting for the last 10 kilometers to make their move. And dont even get me started on the course designs, are they going to be the same old, tired, unoriginal routes that weve been stuck with for years, or are the organizers actually going to try and shake things up a bit.
I mean, its not like the Spring Classics are boring or anything, but come on, a little bit of creativity and originality would be nice, instead of the same old, predictable, formulaic racing that weve been seeing for years, and maybe, just maybe, well actually see someone whos not a usual suspect take the win, and wouldnt that be something.
And while were at it, whats with all the hype surrounding the top riders, I mean, yeah, theyre great and all, but cant we try to focus on some of the lesser-known riders for a change, I mean, theres got to be some talent hidden away in the lower ranks, and wouldnt it be great to see one of them actually make a break for it and take the win, instead of just the usual suspects.
So, who do you think is going to be the most successful rider in this years Spring Classics, and dont give me any of that oh, its going to be Van Aert or Van der Poel nonsense, I want to hear some actual, original thought, and some creativity, for once.
