Can I use tire sealant with inner tubes, and if so, is it just a waste of time and money, or is it legit legit? I mean, think about it, the whole point of tire sealant is to seal punctures, but if you have an inner tube, then isnt that just redundant? Or is there something Im missing here? Are people just using it as some sort of magical insurance policy against flats, like a get-out-of-jail-free card or something?
And another thing, if I do decide to use tire sealant with inner tubes, do I need to use some special kind, or can I just use the regular stuff? And whats the deal with the whole compatibility thing - Ive heard some people say that certain sealants dont play nice with inner tubes, but is that really a thing?
And lets not forget about the mess - I mean, weve all seen the videos of people using tire sealant and its like a sticky, gooey nightmare. Is it really worth the risk of getting that stuff all over your bike, your hands, and your garage floor? I mean, I know some people are all about the DIY thing, but come on, isnt there a better way?
And what about the weight - I know some sealants can add a significant amount of weight to your wheel, which is a big no-no for us weight weenies. Is it really worth the few grams of sealant to have that just in case feeling?
And dont even get me started on the whole its not a substitute for proper tire maintenance thing. I mean, if Im using tire sealant with inner tubes, am I just being lazy and not checking my tires as often as I should? Or is it just a legitimate way to add an extra layer of protection to my ride?
I mean, seriously, can someone just give me a straight answer on this? Is using tire sealant with inner tubes a brilliant idea, or is it just a bunch of hype?
