these are inexpensive nylon pedals that probably have some carbon in the resin. They are worth what

Ah, from the Sugino 75 Carbon group.

Your pedal bodies, I think, are plastic injection molded with graphite reinforcement (carbon dust).
Basically plastic, but a little stronger and stiffer.

The group also included:
- crank with carbon fiber covered chain ring (honeycomb core?)
- carbon fiber brake levers (just the blades)
- Carbon bodied rear derailleur (like Campy Record 10) based on the contemporary SunTour
Superbe Pro
- Front derailleur (any carbon in that?)
- maybe a seat post?

Anyone remember more details or have photos?

Exactly correct. Proprietary toe clips, I think.

It wasn't *that* light. I think it was carbon sheet glued to a thinner-than-standard chainring.

I seem to recall a disc wheel, too- flat sided honeycomb with aluminum sheet on the outside.

Those are pretty cool anyway. The 75 is the carbon version of the earlier Sugino Aero Mighty pedal -
and shares the uncommon pattern toeclip. For $16 I think you did well on these.
