Hello everybody, I will very much appreciate any clues and advises that you may provide me.
My aunt (65) has the painless swelling on her front side, below the neck, but above the breast (it
looks like it's "on the chest bone"😉 for several months already. The swelling is not quite soft, and
can't be moved under the skin. It appeared for about 1/2 year ago, but she doesn't have any
diagnosis yet.
What was done by now:
- General blood tests (showed a little high sugar levels, besides that the doctor have said that
everything is OK)
- Ultra-sound of the swelling (the ultra-sound showed no connection of the swelling with thyroid,
and supposedly vessel-nature of the swelling, as it was pulsing)
- Visit to vessel surgeon (the surgeon supposed that this is some kind of lymph swelling)
- Visit to lymph surgeon (the surgeon doesn't think that the symptom is threatening, and didn't
suggest the further examination)
So apparently, after finishing all the tests and visits, she didn't receive any diagnosis or any
treatment. Now, after several months her swelling (in her words though) grew a little, but still
there are no other symptoms.
What should be done? Which specialists should she see? Any clues on what can it be? And finally: can
this be caused by teeth infection (she has several problems with her teeth right now, including
inflammation)?
Thanks in Advance Jenny
