  1. This has been something that's been bugging me ever since I started visiting this forum. Why don't people say where they're from? At least give a country, for hell's sake. This is an international forum, don't you know?

I see people write in asking for advice, but they don't give you any idea where they're from. So you end up giving some Kiwi advice like, "Oh, just get on the Performance website and order it up." The thing is, Performance is a US company, and shipping would cost them their left testicle (or ovary). Of course they could choose the right one instead:p.

Are you offending individuals affraid that someday you're going to push the wrong buttons in a forum post, and some psychotic cyclist (probably a mountainbiker) will come and snuff you?

If you don't want to put your location in, at least put something clever in the slot. Show a little personality! I've seen some good ones like:
"in front of you, on my bike"
"which ever planet I'm visiting currently"

And here are some other creative suggestions to mimic (or steal):
"Star M5312 in the Orion Nebula"
    "40° 46' N 111° 58' W"
"Clive Schwank's Champagne and Karaoke Bar"

So ladies and gentlemen of the forum, I implore thee: please fill out the location slot under your "User Profile."

    Sláinte!
    James

It's part of the UFC, or Universal Forum Code -- a secret set of message board/forum posting codes meant to confuse and otherwise befuddle people who are used to reading full and proper English language structure. 😄

Actually, it's a shortcut for "no message" -- meaning don't bother reading past the subject line, 'cause I was too lazy to write anything other than that.

  8. And all the international readers are supposed to know where SLC, UT is 🙂
