  1. I will be spending a week in Melbourne Florida and will be taking my bike. Does anyone know of group
rides and/or good routes for some nice easy riding?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Ian,

How's the golf game? Heard you have a wife and kid(s) now, too!

I don't know about group rides, but a good route is to go South on A1A. Most of the way from
Melbourne to Ft. Pierce (about 40 miles) has a bike lane, and traffic seems light. It is very flat
with a few bridges being the only elevation. I have ridden the route three times in the last 6
months, each time with a fairly strong crosswind.

Keep in mind, Palm Bay is right next door to Melbourne. There are Saturday and Sunday rides from
    this location.

  10. Carl, it's Gordo. You have waaay too much time on your hands..hehe. Hey, when are you coming back to
FL to visit all the homies?

BTW, is that the same Ian Jackson who used to work at Village Bicycle in Sunrise? Mr. Australian?
That was back in the good-old-days when I used to work at Johnny's Cycle. Hell Yeah!

    Gordo!

When I posted, it was 8:30 pm in January. I don't mountain bike. 'Nuff said?

As for a visit, not sure when, but I hope soon. Did you hear about the douchebag who faked a crash
on the Flamingo/Sheridan ride, then got up on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend who was in a
follow car? The rides are always so odd in S Florida.

As in the adrenaline rush of self importance. I wonder how he would have felt if she had proposed to
him at a Mary Kay meeting?

Probably like sticking his head under the wheels of the pink Caddy (or whatever the hell it is
you get for selling an imperial buttload of cosmetics). I figure doing stunts like that in front
of a crowd is simply begging for embarrassment: what happens if the other party says, "Um, lemme
get back to you on that..."?
