That's nudity? Someone's led a sheltered life! AFAIC he's wearing a hat, socks and walking boots. He's dressed, innee. -- Fran If you need my email address please ask.

The naked rambler has finally completed his 7 Month journey (mostly spent in prison) from Lands End to John O Groats, apparently he celabrated with a quick dip in the Pentland Firth!
God help him if he'd got his todger out on a sunday!
Ha ha! You're right, of course - these people are still in the dark ages. They need a blast of market forces and tourism to drag them out. It worked with the Welsh.

Great .. I thought he was still in Inverness nick. Quick going from Evanton, his last known nicking.
Weird thing is.... I heard quite a bit about him inthe West Country. Then....nothing 'til he reappeared in mid-Scotland. Which way did he go? What problems did he encounter? Surely there must have been some
excitement

between Taunton and Inverness. Excellent to hear that he made it though. D'ya think there'll be a film?
It should make a short but amusing story, if told from his viewpoint. -- Gordon

Planning to invade?
It's already been done! Did I mention my visit to Llangollen the other week? It was a Sunday - but the place was teeming with life, with bustling shops, etc. - with people having *pleasure*. That would have been impossible a few years back. Some parts of Scotland and the Isles are worse than Wales used to be. Not the Catholic areas, of course.

I don't recall.

How the hell did he avoid hypothermia?? He'll never see his todger again!!!
Graham
When was the last time you saw yours you fat bellied fat thing?
I bet even Errol Flynn would have had trouble finding his if he'd taken all his clothes off and gone for a stroll in the Highlands. You're right about the fat belly. The only walking I've done since Chrimbo is down to the Co op for a bottle of Black Sheep 🙁

They do that in your local Co-op? Not in mine they don't. :-( Do they do the Freeminer Gold Miner bottle conditioned in yours? -- Phil Cook looking north over the park to the "Westminster Gasworks"

Bah, humbug. We're not all complete softies.
OTOH, I wonder if he had something warm to sleep in. I'd happily walk in that (lack of) gear, but I couldn't sit still for very long, let alone overnight, without something a bit warmer.

Troll alert
Man gives viewpoint and gets called a troll? Nice. The publicity seeking, oops, naked rambler wouldn't walk in the buff in front of my children. You should read the story about the nudey freaks background life and then tell me, he's not a bit "odd". And that's the polite way of putting it.

KRO
Fair enough, but repeating the rant lower down the thread causes suspision of living sub pontum.
FWIW my opinion.. Hes an idiot, but what a story. The real prats were those who kept putting him in Inverness nick. If ignored he would have just gone away, with a fraction of the publicity, I await the film.
My home village, used to be , all but Welsh. OK it was 10 miles inside England, but there were a lot of Welsh , or recently Welsh families living there. I remember quite a few folk not being alowed out to play on a Sunday. It was a bit of a drag, as our Sunday football games etc were a bit under manned.
The Chapel has now closed, and the village has become a very exclusive address.
LIke Wales, the pubs were closed on a Sunday, however in this village they were closed for the other 6 days as well. A previous landowner closed them all down, grubbed the orchards as well - again Chapel!
I thank the Lord that I was brought up as a Catholic - we go from Mass straight to the Parish Club to get rat arsed and spend the rest of the housekeeping money in the fruit machine, possibly also impregnating the barmaid, as neither of us will use contraception!
I hope for your sake you're married to the barmaid then, otherwise Mrs Rooney won't be very impressed.
