  1. I'm heartbroken with the 2090's. They changed something in the area under the ball of foot and my
one foot starts to burn after about 3 hours. There is no physical defect.

I do see a very distinct pattern change between the 80's and 90's and I'm certain there is less
flexibility under the ball. They may have changed the gel but that's very hard to determine. If I
can find a Email address I plan to feed this back to Asics. In the mean time I need to find some
80's to get me through my races next month.

Has anyone else noticed any changes with the 90's?

  2. Hi Doug:

I know we had a prior exchange about these shoes on another thread recently, and I had noted too
that there was distinct upward pressure that I didn't notice on prior versions. I switcehd to a
larger size, and that moved the thing (whatever it is) out of any position to bother my feet.

In your case, I wonder more that it is only on ONE foot. Doesn't that strike you as more likely a
build nonconformity? You said there's no physical defect, but if it's only on one shoe, either the
two shoes don't match or your two feet don't.

Have you checked out the Runners World shoe forum at rwforums.rodale.comforum.jsp ?

I noticed a few posts that mention that the 2090s are narrower than the 2080s. Some people like it
    for that reason, some don't.

seems to be a common malady lately 🙁

They changed something in the area

Just a thought, and I'm sure you've thought of this, but you've also mentioned you wear shoes right
out of the box: flex the forefoot area by hand - bend toe back on upper. I have to do that with my
Trespasses and initially only use them on gentle hills until the forefoot is broken in. You probably
have that many miles on them already, but just throwing out a thought.

    They may have

You might check here for 2080's (not sure what sizes are left) footrxstore.comfootrxstore.com (entry
    page) merchantpoint.orgcheckitout.cgi (2080 page)

And RRS looks like they have a bunch left but I'm sure you've already checked there.

You might also check in the RW shoe forum. There's a number of posts over there, and some sound like
could be related to your observations. Occasionally there's some people that can feed stuff back to
companies. The trail/ultra forum also discusses shoes a lot, but usually trail models.

    Good luck.

Possibly but like many of us, one of my feet is 1/2 size different. I suspect the "hard spot" simply
hits my one foot is a more vulnerable spot. I have worn 13 EE for 12 years since my one foot is 12
    and the other 12 1/2.

Not yet. I'll take a look.

Since I wear an alleged fixed EE and they don't feel tight in case the 9 year olds are taking
    liberties with the width.

Happened out of the box and after they had about 75 miles and no difference. I'll still wear then
for my shorter runs and try again to see if they get more felible but I doubt it.

Yup, no 13 EE's. I ordered two pair from footlocker which will get me through my two close races.
I'll then have to look for another model.

Phil said the same and I will as soon as I get some time. Same for the ultra folks.

I found an Asics Email address and fed them my observations. I did it not to get product credit,
hell I could just return them to RRS, but as a legit design question/problem/input. I know some
people claimed that the 80's were soft and they may have tried to firm them up. This time my ride
may have be caught in the changes.

It will be interesting to see if I get an answer or just shoved into some bit bucket.

oh, good! My trespasses came Fri so I should be set for a couple years at my present mileage and
    hopefully a little more.

That's exactly why I e-mailed Brooks about the Trespass toebox change. Dunno if it'll help, but it
    makes a person felt better.

  9. Hey dumbass, if it were the shoes don't you think it would be on BOTH feet? It's your foot. Christ

  10. Further proof that excessive mileage causes drain bramage.
