Aging and deconditioning example.
A serious runner stops running after an injury. The runner usually feels worst after some time
passes by because the muscles, tendons and ligaments may go in to what's called contracture or
shortening of the muscles and surrounding soft tissue. The ex athlete may need a therapist who will
do deep tissue, but deep tissue if done properly on contracture should not cause pain, it should
"hurt feel good" If the techniques hurt I would find someone else. Also you may want to get a
evaluation from a medical professional who believes in massage.

Quoted message said:When I go in for my massage they're going to ask me what kind I want.
I've got aches and pains from aging and deconditioning.
I'm not so much interested in relaxing, my wife can give me the gentle touch (on a good day), but
I want my muscles worked.
I'm guessing that I want a sports massage from the descriptions I've seen. Does that sound right?
Thanks, JS
