  1. My current weight: 157.2 lbs
Weight change since my last recorded weight: -.8 lbs
Total weight change to date: -74.8 lbs

Down again is good! I'm SOOO close to my next mini-goal: 75
lbs total loss. I was on my way to a whoosh this WI, but a
friend invited me to dinner last night. It's not that I ate
too much, but that he neglected to tell me, even after I
asked, ALL the ingredients he included in some of the
dishes. It didn't occur to him that using olive oil and
sugar changed the calorie count of the collard greens. Only
when I asked him how he prepared the dishes and he told me,
step by step, that I learned about the hidden ingredients.
Next time I'll be sure to ask for all the details in
advance. I can't be too upset: he invited me to shower while
I was there, a luxury experience in my current mode of
    living in a construction zone.

I rode my bike 5 times this week. That's close to an
exercise record for me. Yesterday evening I paced myself
more moderately and got around the lake two times. The
distance around the lake is 2.9 miles; twice around is 6
miles. I'll start being more adventurous about where I ride
once I've worked my up to circling the lake three times.
I've already purchased a map of bike trails and roads in the
Twin Cities and a couple of books about bike trails in
Minnesota. I've been talking bikes with some friends and
discovered that I might have some bike riding partners.

One of the best benefits of bike riding is that I sleep
through an entire night after I've gone biking. Maybe it's
being out in the fresh air that makes the difference, but
I'm enjoying some of the best sleep I've had in years.
    Sleep, glorious sleep!

Well, I'm off now to pick up my new toilet.

It's the best day of my life!

  6. GREAT. Another loss, making both Lesanne and this
    correspondent jealous as heck (G)

May you soar or bike past your next mini-goal with ease.

And don't sweat the collard greens. A bit of olive oil is
better than butter. And I know that a olive oil even if you
ate it last night would not show up as much of anything in
    only one day.

A it is terrific that you have fallen so fast for biking and
now finding others who may provide companionship is also
wonderful. You are doing really well.

Hope that the new toilet is picked up by the time you
    read this.

Again, CONGRATS on all those wonderful announcements.

  7. Linda:

    Congrats on your weight loss!!

I guess we get suspicious in our weight loss campaign. We
taste something and just know that it has points in it. My
MIL thinks vegetables are so good for you that it negates
any calories that you add in the dollap of butter. I caught
her adding it one time and now she prepares it no butter
    special for me!!

Congrats on your exercising feat!! I am in awe!!

  9. Thanks Julie. I'm a long ways from challenging Fred to a
biking contest, not unless I can start with a huge handicap
    (as in golf!).

I'm not too worried about when I hit my next mini-goal. In
fact, hitting my RAFL goal next week appears most doubtful
at this point. However, my general trend is still down, so
    I'm not complaining.

  10. Thanks Laura. Getting that bike was the BEST thing. Being out in the
air and moving my body after a day in the office is exactly what I
need. The feeling I get is comparable to how I feel when I'm doing

  11. Weight lifting and aerobics and pilates don't even come
close to giving me the same sense of exhilaration as biking
does. When I go to bed on days I've biked, I can barely keep
my eyes open long enough to read more than a paragraph. I
sleep so soundly I have a hard time waking myself enough to
go to the bathroom (usually two or three times a night), and
am back asleep almost before I'm back in bed. I've been
sleeping so well, I've even woken up before the alarm
sounds. When I haven't biked, I can read a whole chapter
before falling asleep, I wake up before I have to go to the
bathroom, and then lie awake trying to go back to sleep. And
I sleep through the alarm. Really, it's a dramatic
    difference.

that I ate too much, but that he neglected to tell me,

I rode my bike 5 times this week. That's close to an

little seasoning, is not enough for her. No it needs lots of
