I am looking to purchase a good cycletrainer in the 150-200$ range.
Wether it's a fluid, magnetic, ... trainer, I just want one that won't leak and that will last me a considerable amount of time (ie. more than a year). A website where the trainer can be purchased (and shipped to Canada) would be a great help also.
As you can probably tell, I am a total newbie in the field of cycletrainers and would like your expert advise on the subject.
Your input is greatly appreciated.

I purchased a CycleOps Magneto, and paid approximately $190 US dollars for the trainer and the front wheel stand. I rode this trainer all winter usually twice a day for an hour and a half. It is showing no signs of wear, is fairly quiet and wasn't too expensive. Try to avoid the wind trainers if you can, they are less expensive but are noisy.
If you could somehow muster it up I went with a CycleOps fluid 2 from Ebay. I paid, with shipping, $249.99 for the one I use. I love the thing. Very smooth, fairly quiet, and came with front block.
I used to have a Blackburn magnetic trainer and it finally wore-out. I recently replaced it with a CycleOps Fluid II. The Blackburn was okay and it did the job but I like the CycleOps a lot more. It's smoother, more consistant and MUCH quieter than the Blackburn was. I was told when I bought them (I actually bought two at the same time, one for my wife) that the leakage problems with the fluid trainers is a thing of the past. No leaks so far!

I too am a newbie and for my first winter purchased a Trek CycleOps Magneto trainer from my LBS. I have found it to meet my needs and was surprised at how easy it was to set-up and operate. It's quiet enough for me. I paid around $200 for mine. It also came with a training video that was helpful.
I checked Trek's website, and it looks like they have changed the models for this year. The similar new model is the Trek by CycleOps Mag Trainer, but it appears to have adjustable resistance settings versus the progressive resistance. Not the same.
