Sidi Shoes - SPD plate rattle

I've seen small grub screws in there ( a short screw with an
allen broach but no actual head).

Some SiDi insoles have a small slit which opens as a
'window' to service the threaded inserts. Fold open that
window. Remove the unused (or a damaged ) threaded insert
and press the insole flat. You can't tell that's been done
after you press it home again.

If your shoe doesn't have such a slit, one is easily cut
with a sharp blade. It is not necessary or desirable to
remove the entire liner.

Thanks for the responses. I just shoved in a bit of masking
tape. Seems like it would be the easiest to undo. I'm still
somewhat surprised that anyone would need to resort to
glue, masking tape and knives when dealing with a brand new
$200 shoe.
