So, I've been away from here for a bit (doesn't seem as though a lot has changed). Been a bit busy. Selling my old house, buying my version of the "dream" house (decent house and a bit of land to play with), working on new house, playing uncle, trying to be a good husband and good at my job. That's all fine, but I have to vent now and you are the victims I choose, thanks for putting up with me.
I have been known to be hard on bikes and bits (including my own bits). I've had a few broken thats or sprained this over the years as have all of us.
Here's my complaint: I had my shoulder worked on last year and had to sit out for a large part of the late season in rehab. I did some "light" or safe trails as confidence grew but nothing noteworthy or all that exciting frankly. I rode pretty tentitively(?)when I was out on the trails. Not a lot of fun, but good for the sanity none the less. In the interest of making a "painful" story less painful (to read!) I'll just say that I "get" to have my shoulder "worked on" this Thursday, again. It will be my 4th shoulder surgery (thanks to football for two of them) and the first on my right shoulder. My AC joint is over 1 CM out of wack, the coracoclavicular (sp?) ligament is shot, there's some Cartilage work to be done and other "little" things to clean up (doctor speak I suppose). Nice.
So there is another prime riding time shot. This sucks! My vacation going back "home" (CO) is now going to suck, if we go at all, my plans of where to put a jump(s) (although I'm apparently horrible at it), trail building, etc on the new property are on hold and now I'm sent to the bench to "heal". Good times. At least, I guess, this time I didn't crush a frame as well as my [censored]. Just a replaceable derailuer hanger and the deraileur. I shall be back (freakin' when?), but apparently not in my time frame. Have fun and thanks for allowing me to [censored].
