I have been experiencing pain on the inside right ankle
below the knob and just above the heel. I believe the
tendons here are refered to as "Tom, [censored] and Harry." I have
been forced to stop running. The pain I experience is on the
step away. I can massage the area with minimal pain, I can
twist my foot in all directs with minimal pain. I have been
icing, using heat rubs, elevation, and Motrin. Can I
conclude that I am experiencing tendonitis? And if it is, am
I doing all that's necessary for recovery? Will a TENS Unit
be of assistance? I have not gone to a doctor, as I feel if
I can move it every which way there isn't any "severe"
damage. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I've never had that one myself (had almost every other
injury though...), but an acquaintance had it and tried to
run through it and it's become a chronic pain for him.I'd get some pro help -- a P.T. who treats runners, a
running Podiatrist, or some other enlightened soul. I would
be very careful. It could be that your foot needs more
support, and the tendons are overworked trying to keep your
foot in proper alignment.--Dan
