After announcing that all the old trains would be withdrawn
and London to Brighton riders would have to return by
coach/lorry, Southern Railway (the _new_ name for South
Central) have announced that the old trains are now going to
be in service for another year. Anyone who has not booked
road transport back could try the train company, but you
will probably get short shrift and the cattle trucks will
just run back virtually empty. 0/10 for sustainable
transport ;-(

sustainable transport ;-(When I did the ride last year, they removed the seats and
gave half the carriages to bikes. Pretty well done by the
train company.Still, if I was to di it again, i'd book a B&B and stay
the night and have a party. Didn't last year as I went
on my tod. In fact, I vowed I wouldn't do it again. Too
many inconsiderate cyclists, both beginners and
experienced alike.
