have been known to break. Mine did. I had the spare. Five
minutes later in the middle of the Blue ridge Parkway I was
riding again, no tools required. Bill Brannon -

If you're talking about the "quick release" link (A.K.A.
Craig "SuperLink"😉, I usually keep one for the entire
life of the chain (about 5000-6000 miles) this way the
link's wear stays about the same as the rest of the
chain throughout it's life. When the chain wears out,
the SRAM link goes into the recycle bin with the chain.
New chain, new link.I usually have to re-wax every 4-500 miles, depending on
weather, mud, etc. so, depending on other repairs, about 6-
10 changes, total.- -

How many chains do you use the SRAM link on before

link was already a used part when installed, at any
subsequent removal) and replace when the pins are visibly
worn, or when the link does not latch properly. If you're buying SRAM chains that are not bulk-packed, they
should be supplied with a new connector link. I retain the
old Powerlinks when I take an SRAM chain off, and keep them
as emergency spares if they're not worn.--

they attach to. With a new chain, you get new holes. The
removable link doesn't wear the same way as the rest of
the chain.I get over 5,000 miles on a chain and haven't worn out
a link yet. -

Should not reuse with a new chain. You 'should' get a new
one with a new chain. Use when removing/cleaning and then
pitch along wth the chain.Peter Chisholm Vecchio's Bicicletteria 1833 Pearl St.

If you have any SRAM links for 8 or 9 speed chains you're
not using, let me know how much you want for them! Thanks -
I'll look and see if I have any. -- Jay Beattie.
