Rear wheel clicking noise while coasting

It sounds like you're just talking about the freehub ticking. Don't worry about this - the loudness of the tic-tic noise has nothing to do with the quality of the hubs/wheels. Tiagra hubs actually do the same thing, they just do it really quietly. Some of the best wheels on the market, on the other hand, are really loud - e.g. Campagnolo Eurus. In fact, Chris King hubs, widely considered to be the best hubs money can buy, are especially noisy when coasting.

Why not ride them over to where you bought them and ask them to listen?
Some racheting of the pawls is normal and rarely silent.
Some hubs "free-wheeling" mechanisms are considerably louder.
Remove your paranoid tendencies with a ride to the shop for their diagnosis.

I have some Elites as well, and they do make an annoyingly loud click. I have Campy Eurus and they are loud, but it is a much finer action pawl, so it doesnt bother me.

They all do it, its just some are quieter than others.

Yep....Ksyriums are very noisy.

Yup, when I was a pup wet behind the ears I also thought noisy wheel equals cheap wheel. My K's have that same noise and in group rides sometimes they are the quiet ones!

Boudreaux does have a point, quit yer coasting mate. Keep the legs turning to maintain good blood flow.

Can't avoid it! Usually I choose my rides to be downhill anayway.... 😉

Get your LBS to replace the hubs with a fixie SS. I guarantee you'll never hear that clicking sound again... *WEG*

I usually try to avoid coasting where possible, but there are some nasty bits of road on my usual rides that it'd be reeeeally nasty to be in the saddle for......and standing and pedalling can just be a pain in the ass if you're tired.
