Since Bush has been president, the number of Americans who
have no Health insurance has climbed by more than 9%. When
Clinton left office, 40 million Americans had no health
insurance, but today, more than 44 million Americans have no
health insurance. The rising number of uninsured is due
mostly to the rising unemployment rate and the rising number
of part-time or minimum wage jobs that do not offer any
health insurance to their employees. A whopping 80% of those
who have no health insurance come from working families. But
this dire statistic is even more dire if you look at the
rising number of Americans whose health insurance coverage
has been so reduced that it can only be desribed as grossly
inadequate.
There are those who have health insurance and then there are
the increasing numbers who don't. But in the richest country
in the world, there is no excuse why every man, woman and
child should not have quality, affordable health care.
And then there is the rising cost of health care insurance,
coupled with the rising cost of prescription drugs, they
both keep rising steeply each and every single year.
Since Bush has been president, health care bills have gone
up nearly 50% for the American public, and health
insurance costs have gone up more than 3 times faster than
average wages.
Health care costs are soaring, coverage is dropping, and
more Americans than ever have lost their health care
coverage altogether.
In summary, we have a national problem, and we need a
national solution, but that solution can only be achieved if
we vote for somebody who is not in the pocket of the health
insurance industry such as the likes of Bush or anyone else
in the Republican party.
