The Follis is now up and running.

All the necessary parts are shiny and clean. A bit of oven
cleaner on the chain and a vigorous wiping took care of
years of accumulated grime; likewise on the freewheel cogs.
I believe I have found, in oven cleaner, my chain degreaser
of choice! A good wash brought the shininess out in the
chrome; we haven't put any real polish on it yet, though.

Mom saw the bike hanging on its hooks, all shiny and mostly-
repaired, and said "Gosh. Looks like a new bike!"

Yesterday my little brother and I went for a quick spin
around the neighborhood. He was super-pleased at how it rode--
a world of difference from his old Huffy. Much lighter,
more responsive, easier to pedal, everything. You should
have seen the smile on his face.

    So far, so good!

Normal dish-washing liquid works nicely too, and might be
    less toxic on the hands.
