Hello, I'm considering this activity...does anyone have any
advice on getting started and where I can purchase a
harness...... I live in Orlando Fl. and could not find any
aquatic exercise equip. at Sports Authority. Thanks for any
feedback you can share.

waste of time. I couldn't get my heatbeat above 100 and I
tore up the bottom of my feet. If you really want to try it,
get some water socks first. -
May I suggest the deep end?

I've been doing this the past couple of months while I've
been recovering from a foot injury.I've been able to do it without any floatation device/
harness. The basic idea is to "run" only in the deep end - i.e where
you can't stand up.The first time I tried it, I found I could "run" for a
couple of minutes, then I would have to rest for 30 secs. By
the second time I could do it non-stop for 30 mins. I think
that was once I realised that I could stay afloat and still
"run" at an "easy" pace.I measure my intensity by counting "steps" per minute. For
me, 60 steps/min is an easy pace, and 70 steps/min is hard
but sustainable for the equivalent of a 20 minute tempo run.
80 steps/min is like sprinting. My typical session is warm up with 300m of swimming. Then
4 mins @ 60 steps/min followed by 6 mins @ 70 steps/min.
Repeat 4 times for 40 mins "running" overall. 300m
swimming cooldown. It's boring - but I find mixing up the intesity and counting
the steps helps to make it bearable.Anthony.

When I had an injury, I had tried that. You'll found it a waste of time. Get some water socks first if you really want to tyr it.
