  1. STEVE BAYT (Parma/Brook Park, Ohio)

First of all, my articles aren't e-dialogues. They
are lectures and idiots who post one line comments
show how stupid they are. The problem for those who
claim I should read what Atkins is all about, is that
I have read through his most recent updated Atkins
    New Diet Revolution many times.

Atkins low carb recent marketing is seriously
condemned by every health society, association
and the federal government. Atkins book even says
so on the hard bound edition of Atkins New Diet
    Revolution- Page 88.

While I have labeled Senate Bill 722, "The American
Health Crisis Act of 2003". The Atkins Diet
Revolution would be better called The Atkins Death
Sentence. According to page 77 of the 2004 World
Almanac, 992,000 people died in 2001 due to Atkins
    Death Sentence guidelines.

Several days in The Parma Snow Road Library going
through every health book, in particular The
    Nutrition Almanac © 1996 (Mc-Graw Hill publishers)
and THE DIET ADVISOR published Health Magazine was
spent finding hundreds of deadly diseases and
conditions that are inevitable with a high
    protein/high fat/low carb diet.

The science is so simple even Mark Probert, Jan Drew
and Mtomaceau should be able to understand. Yet,
Atkins doesn't. Eating excessive amounts of protein
destroys the kidneys which sends toxins to vital
organs. Excessive saturated fat which is ten times the
USRDA in Atkins Induction Stage makes the heart have
to work too hard to supply the too few nutrients that
is available with the fruitless, vegetableless and
    milkness 14 days.

The dangerously low Atkins Death Sentence
recommendation of 20-90 grams of carbs a day
provides not even enough energy sources for basic
bodily functions like heart beatings, lung
    respiration

The end result of what killed 992,000 last year
is the dangerous Atkins façade that Fat can be
burned off without carbs. Carbs help burn off
fat. And Atkins claim on page 195 that protein
can somehow turn to glucose for energy is
dangerously wrong. Excessive protein intakes can
cause serious neourological and kidney damage.
Protein doesn't convert to glucose it is excreted
in urine after the acids tear away at stomach
    lining causing ulcers.

Taking the average of recommendations from The
National Research Council, The American Heart
Association, National Institute of Health et al.
a person needs at least 100 grams of carbs (both
simple and complex) daily to guarantee enough
energy for life sustaining body operations.

THE DIET ADVISOR published by Health Magazine
(not commercially connected to Atkins), pages
46-49 describes the deadly consequences of
what I call THE ATKINS DEATH SENTENCE. My
favorite quote is " While promoting his
program, Atkins glosses over its dangers."

According to THE NUTRITION ALMANAC (softbound)
page 20 "A total lack of carbs may produce
ketoses, toxic compounds that can cause brain
damage, lack of energy, apathy and a breakdown
    of essential body proteins.

No where in Atkins 2002 book does he explain
the differences between simple and complex
carbs and only one misguided page on the
difference between good fats, and the bad fats
    his Death Sentence promotes.

Page 254 of Atkins is perhaps the most insane
dealing with The Myth of Carbo Loading. The
USRDA of Carbs is 277 grams per day. Carbs
should be at least 60 % of calories. The Atkins
Death Sentence book page 155 states "Protein
and fat should be the mainstay of your
    nutrition regimen."

Yet, on page 88 right in the first
paragraph of he admits " I certainly do not
deny that every health organization, as
well as the U.S Government endorses a low-
fat diet in unquestioned belief that fat
    causes heart failure."

On Saturday Part II of this series will focus
on the financial effect those who decide to
engage on this suicidal path of destruction,
how the title of this posting fits and how
Atkins masochists could lose their health
coverage and benefactors could not get paid by
their Life Insurance policies when those
Atkins Death Sentence people join the 992,000
who died in 2001 due to Heart Disease, Kidney
    Breakdown and Stroke.

I have to check some legal aspects to see
whether being on Atkins can legally qualify
as suicide thus releasing Life Insurance
companies from paying off. I'll check it out
then see whether Atkins Death Sentence people
have anything to worry about financially.

Part II might not get posted until Sunday,
due to the 3 to 9 hour delay.

Love Means Never Having To Say. You're Sorry.

992,000? Sounds to me like you got hold of a bad pork chop.

  3. Myth: Ketosis is dangerous and causes a variety of medical problems.

Fact: The full name for ketosis is benign dietary ketosis.
Ketones are one of two fuel-delivery substances in our bodies-
the other is glucose. When you control carbohydrate intake,
as you do during the Induction phase of Atkins, your body
utilizes your alternative metabolic fuel (stored body fat).
This fat-dissolving state is called lipolysis, which leads
to the secondary process of ketosis in which byproducts
called ketones are produced. Both lipolysis and ketosis are
perfectly normal and natural functions of the body. The more
ketones you release, the more fat you have dissolved.
Unfortunately, ketosis is often confused with ketoacidosis,
a condition found in diabetics whose blood sugar is out of
control, as well as in alcoholics and other individuals in a
    state of starvation.

Research on patients who were studied in metabolic ward
conditions for one month showed that ketosis was benign with
no complications or side effects. The study documented
heart, liver, kidney and blood functions in the patients and
found no adverse effects2. Kidney function was found to be
stable on controlled-carbohydrate diets. In fact Richard
Veech, a researcher with the National Institutes of Health,
has demonstrated that both the heart and brain run 25
percent more efficiently using ketones as a source of fuel
    instead of blood sugar.

And a stupid label it is, since you've totally misstated
what the bill would require -- namely, that supplement
manufacturers would have to report adverse reactions, just
as drug companies do. Seems like a good idea to me.
