I have an aluminium road bike and have almost continual creaking noises which sound like there in the bottom bracket (area). The bottom bracket has been in and out of the frame several times, has had new bearings, grease and shouldn't be the problem. Chainrings have been tightened and so have the cranks - as much as I dare.
One thing that really bemuses me is that when riding in the wet (and for a couple of hours afterwards when it's dried up), then the creaking disappears!

Make sure the seat post isn't a bit undersized and grease it when you reinstall. Phil Brown.

Warm some Lindseed oil and dribble down the inside of the seattube, to lube the interfacers of the down, seat tubes and BB shell..this has worked for a Pinarello, DeRosa, Cannondale, Ellsworth..all aluminum.

Assuming its a cartridge BB, remove it. Clean the outside of BB casing and the inside of the BB shell of the frame with scotchguard. Coat the inside of the shell with antisieze compund available from any auto parts store, and reinstall the BB. If you ride in the rain, contaminants can creep into the BB shell. once it drys out, it will cause creaking. When it's wet, the water acts as a lubricant and eliminates the squeaking.
