Cloth Tape for Handlebars

I'm sure I can get cloth, cork, or normal shiny tape from my contacts here in South Africa. But that doesn't help you over there...

Gee, I don't think I've seen cloth tape in any of our bike shops around here (SA). Maybe admin or Nicholas can help you out in the Aus area.

I'll check out Cecil Walker's site.
I think the Cinelli tape is the soft, plastic stuff - very
comfortable. I have similar, black tape on one of my bikes,
but I do want the cloth stuff. Or Cork. The cloth tape comes,
or used to come, in a longer length, enough to start at the
bottom of your drop bars, go 'round the hoods, and finish an
inch or two from the stem.
I do know that it is easily obtainable in the U.S., but I don't
have a credit card :-(

I believe I can help you out with the cloth tape issue.
The one that is most commonly found is...Tressostar cloth handlebar tape. This can be found by doing a seach on the web. Lots of on line cycle web sites carry it. Mostly found in black.

The other one that you might be interested in is....Viva.
This tape is made in Japan and is suppose to be the best cloth tape available.
There is only one site that I found that carries it.
