G'day
Have done this a couple of times, a challenging course. The bes
part ,(for the family man) is it's attached to the 'Sunbury fair'
which means the wife & kids can be occupied whilst you race!.....se
you there
cheers

Hitchy,
I managed to put a few pics of last years race on the Sunbury Web site
(http://marcan.customer.netspace.net.au/). If you were there last year
you might see yourself.

G'day hippy
The course is an 1100m 'square' on residential streets. There is
'challenging' climb, (not to steep, but wearing after an hour) & a fas
decent into a reasonably tight corner. All of the corners will b
marshalled, the roads will be closed except to residents,(who have bee
cycle race educated). There will be lead cars & the like. Plenty of of
street parking. Going by other years, we would expect (weathe
permitting of course) around 20 -25 in each grade. There will be som
mid race sprint prizes, (cash or bike goodies) in each grade. We've pu
$1000 up for grabs in prize money for the day, naturally skewed toward
the A graders.(maybe a little more but cyclesport only allow us t
'offer' $1000 unless it is co-promoted with them....that would force th
enty fee up.) I would think C grade would be worth around $130-$160 fo
the win (all prize money guaranteed regardless of field size). If we ge
a few females in C grade (usually do), we'll have 1st female as well
The race is part of the Sunbury fair, so there will be heaps of othe
activities taking place on the day, so plenty to do even for those 'no
riders'. Entry is $15, (bring your licence)...a good day will be had b
all. Infact, i think you should load up the car with some Blackbur
'guns' & come try & take our money!....Hope to see you all there, mor
details on madonemans link above

Hitchy,
I would not even consider riding the Madone in a crit. I remember when I
got my brand new Cannondale a few years ago and crashed it in my first
crit ride with it. Even though I had hurt myself in the crash, the pain
of seeing my Cannondale with the back wheel bent at 90 degrees was worse
than any physical pain. You should know this because you were in the
same crash and you had a new bike as well. I bet you don't ride your
future new Look KG486 in a crit.
You should know better than to ask me if I will be riding the Madone.

Madone Man,
G'day madoneman,
I guess that's probably a good idea...considering the way YOU
ride........the sound of carbon scrapping on gravel just sounds like
$$$$ to me!,

Hitchy,
You can talk! How many times have you crashed. For those out there that
don't know, Hitchy crashed at about 5kph turning into a driveway. You
should have seen the damage he made to himself and the bike. If you
can't stay on two wheels when you are riding alone, God help those who
you race against.

Hitchy: You and I should hook up.. we'd be able to take out the whol
field and then limp home for 1st and 2nd places! :
You learn from your mistakes.. the more you stack, the more yo
know.. right? ;

I like your thinking...something along the lines of the 'Steve
