players and boxers wear them, but haven't heard of any made for

My guess, he probably rides the most expensive one available, of
course, made in the USA. Hehe...when someone finds out it is really
made overseas, that will take up a few more headlines and percentage
points. Whenever the election race gets to the debate stage, wouldn't
it be neat if in place of one debate, Bush and Kerry did a bicycle
race? Choose your weapons, flip a coin, mountain or road, with
appropriate, and challenging courses, to the finish. I know who I'd
bet on to win.

It would be interesting. It appears that Bush is a MTBer and Kerry is
a roadie. That should make it easier for the follower of r.b._. to
choose sides. ;-)

I'd have to say that the two major candidates have to be in better
shape than any pair previously. I know Kerry is pretty active, and
that Bush runs ~7 minute miles in races (putting him pretty near the
top of his age group in most races). Does anyone know if Kerry has
done any racing?

My bet is he was wearing a full face helmet, not a mouthpiece. Not
that the press ever gets any details wrong... ;-)

He is in fact a very fast rider and could probably ride the wheels off
anyone twenty years his junior in an ITT.

Problem is, he will only do out-and-back courses, preferring to ride
an equal distance in each direction.
