  1. For whatever reason, I can't get through to Performance or Nashbar's
website. My computer refuses to connect, and has for a month. I've
tried several browsers, clearing caches, etc. Nothing works.

A little reading turns up that I'm not the only one who's had this
problem, though it sounds like most people don't. They've got some
    weird code or something.

In any case, though I've been a happy customer for years, I'm too lazy
to try and fix this anymore. I'm trying a couple of other places to
see who has good prices and service. Any suggestions for places I may
    have overlooked.

Oh, and if anyone knows anyone who works for Nashbar, tell them to fix
their website. Who knows how many people have similar issues.

On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

  3. I've been having the same problem. A traceroute tells me exactly where the
packets stop, but for some reason, the customer service folks just say "it
works for me". I offered to tell their techs where the problem is, but
sounds like they don't care. I can get ti it just fine from work though.

    Oh well; their loss....

Are you sure that it's a Nashbar problem then?

You didn't say where the traceroute stopped, but it sounds to me like a
network problem somewhere else. In this case, calling your ISP may be a
better way to get results and/or information.

I had that problem a while back, and it turned out to have something to
do with cookies and they way their ColdFusion code handled them.
Apparently deleting any cookies related to Nashbar took care of the
    problem.

Hi, I think you are right, the problem is on his end. I can access
Nashbar with Netscape 7.1, 4.7, and with Microsofts Internet Explorer
6.0. My ISP is PeoplePC, using a dail up connection.

OP, what system are you using?

Just call 1-800-nashbar and place an order.

  9. Did call my ISP, and they're looking at it. Bit it's kinda interesting that
it's not just me, or my ISP. I checked some friends around the country to
see who could get there and who could not. Seemed pretty random.... (not
home right now, and it works from work, so I can't tell you (now) where the
tracert stopped, but can post it later....)

Really. Stores need to hook up with Firefly! It works great, although you
have to give some minimal info to sign up. PC-to-PC, even using dial up...

That happened to me recently with another site. SOme people were telling me
they were able to get through, so I contacted my ISP and they went all the
way down the network. IT got fixed at their end after a few days.I am able
to get the Nashbar site, so it's probably some network problem at your ISP.

  13. So in looking through my traceroute, I see the packets are hung up in
Qwest's network. My ISP will not have anything to do with it since the
packets are leaving bellsouth's network just fine. So I call Qwest (since
they have no e-mail address for support for non Qwest subscribers). They
tell me even though the packets are bouncing in their network and stopping
there, there's nothing they can do to help me (what a crock of [censored] from
someone who just does not wanna do their job - hell, it's THEIR network and
the packets are formatted properly, and their network won't send them on...)

So I sent an e-mail to the webmaster at performancebike with the tracert to
tell him that there's more than 1 of us out there who can't get to his web
site, here's some info to help him out, and it will be costing them
business, and here's the tracert and hopefully he, as the owner of the site,
can get someone to help him with it.

    So anyway, for inquiring minds....

Stragely enough, I just got an e-mail from non-Performance today, and when I
clicked on a link I got a "dead" error page. (I was an early replier to OP,
saying no problem w/my connection on same ISP.)

Now I can't connect to /either/ Performance or Stuporgo, although Nashbar
loaded fine. (Not that I'm even shopping for anything right now; spent WAY
too much in last few months!)
